Residential Mixed-Use Structure Stands Out In Arlington Neighborhood With Modern Metal Exterior Design
Verde Pointe, the over two-acre mixed-use residential space in Arlington, Virginia, was the collaborative efforts of the architects at Antunovich Associates and developers at McCaffery Interests. The development has two distinctive “portions” as the architects explain, “On the West side sit 42 residential units, a 14,000 square-foot supermarket and a 242 space parking garage. The East side houses a 12-story contemporary tower that includes 162 apartments ranging from studios to two-bedroom units.”

The development, by Tower Companies, commissioned Design Collective to complete the first phase of the redevelopment by designing the 14-story mixed-use high-rise building that features, “…284 units, 177 parking spaces, and 30,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor amenity spaces including a two-story floating wellness center in the courtyard and a rooftop terrace overlooking Rock Creek Park,” Design Collective describes.

The Linx is a $60 million adaptive reuse architectural marvel by Spagnolo, Gisness & Associates (SGA Arch) in Watertown, MA. The building was converted from a concrete warehouse into a contemporary commercial office complex with a design that incorporates daylighting and various exterior-cladding materials. With the concrete replaced with glass, the new building was split into two and will now house a variety of professional industries from technology to health insurance.
