Massachusetts High School Undergoes Massive Redevelopment To Accommodate Growing Student Body
Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District underwent a massive renovation and new construction development in 2015. The architects at JCJ Architecture and Dietz & Company Architects collaborated on the district’s Feasibility Study and Schematic Design for the three affected schools. Two of the schools involved, which accommodate students K-6, underwent extensive renovation. The third school, the Southwick Regional School, underwent renovation and expansion to combine the middle school and serve students grades 7-12.
Architects Design Sustainable Hospitality Development In Watertown’s East End
The Residence Inn Marriott Boston Watertown is the first hotel built in the area in 50 years, Dana Forsythe of the Wicked Local Watertown explains. The hotel is the joint venture between developers Boylston Properties of Boston and Stonebridge Companies in Denver. Boylston is known for their recent projects in developing areas of Boston such as the recently completed LINX, the $60 million corporate development in Watertown.
LEED Gold Mixed-Use Residential Building Features A Variety Of Modern Metal Components
The Rixey is a 15-story, 265 unit apartment complex in Arlington, Virginia. Designed by SK&I Architecture, the building is leased from Marymount University who own the property just next door. In addition to residential and retail spaces at the Rixey, they also offer Marymount graduate student housing as well.
LEED Gold Hotel Showcases Modernity And Sustainability In Downtown Arlington
The Hyatt Place Courthouse developed in Arlington, Virginia, was constructed with sustainability as a central element of its design. The project was the collaborative work of DC-based firm WDG and Gordon & Greenberg Architecture. The architects worked closely with the green building consultants at Paladino and Company to produce the LEED certified hotel.
LEED Gold Commercial Building Features Metal Components Fabricated By CEI Materials
The Fallsgrove Plaza commercial development by DVA Architects was built back in 2014. The 12 million-dollar 120,000 square-foot complex includes a five-story commercial building and an attached parking structure. The building is comprised mostly of high-efficiency glass, brick, and metal composite material. A singularly impressive element of the exterior is the towering metal fin on the building’s façade.
