A new multi-family residential building was erected in Chevy Chase, Maryland, designed by Design Collective. The building, the Lindley, achieved LEED Silver certification and features nearly 200 units over its 11-story footprint.
The building was constructed by developer EYA who insisted the high-rise contain all the latest in luxury apartment amenities including a green roof, dog park, lounge area, yoga and fitness studios, entertainment venue and children’s areas. The building was strategically built across from the impending Purple Line’s Connecticut Avenue Light Rail Station, set to open in 2022.
EYA’s Vice President of Land Acquisition, McLean Quinn, describes, “Residents of The Lindley will enjoy great commuter access, a host of new and existing dining and retail choices surrounding the building and access to the nearby Capital Crescent Trail for walking, running and cycling.” The area is set for significant development in preparation for the upcoming Light Rail Station including numerous restaurants and retail outlets.
The apartments are available in studio, one, two, or three-bedroom homes. The architects at Design Collective explain, “Here [at The Lindley], the cachet of a classic neighborhood meets the promise of a brilliant future. Fresh amenities abound—including a picturesque park, extensive game room, and breathtaking rooftop with alfresco dining and relaxing space. The Lindley is a perfect combination of seamless convenience and serene charm. Lush and luxe, the Lindley is living inspired.”
The exterior is a stunning combination of intricate brickwork and metal composite material. The warm brick creates an established façade but is juxtaposed by the contemporary feel of a bronzed metal material. The composition of the exterior offers a unique and captivating design.
CEI Materials, utilizing the team’s R4000 Drained Rear-Ventilated Rainscreen System, fabricated the metal composite components. Working closely with Advanced Architectural Metals, the fabrication and installation of the building’s metal components was seamless.
