The AC Hotel in Worcester, Massachusetts is a $30 million modern development, bringing a present-day elegance to city travelers. In an article in MassLive, the authors describe, “With a bar that specializes in cocktails, a ballroom adorned with chandeliers and an outdoor event space for weddings and parties, Worcester's new AC Hotel by Marriott is bringing an upscale vibe to downtown.”

The 170-room, 125,000 square-foot, hotel features a 24-hour fitness area, lounge and nearly 9,000 square-feet of premier event space. For the “sophisticated traveler,” the hotel opened its doors last year. General Manager, Andrew Dunn, describes, “The AC brand is definitely built with the millennial traveler in mind, that's who we are, that's our target audience, but we're here to welcome every guest for every reason.”

Dunn further describes the development as a “lifestyle hotel” with hopes of connecting hotel patrons to the city of Worcester. Managed by New Hampshire-based Colwen Hotel, the AC Hotel is the second Worcester hotel the management firm operates. Sitting on the former site of the Galleria Mall, the hotel is the second new hospitality development in the area in a 12-month period, showcasing the progressive construction of Worcester.

The development is part of a $550 million initiative by Worcester’s CitySquare Development along with a public parking facility, contemporary apartment complex and retail space. The development which includes medical, commercial, retail, entertainment and residential spaces, hopes to invigorate the community’s interest and create a cultural hub for residents and visitors.
The hotel was designed and constructed by PROCON, an award-winning architectural and management firm. CEI Materials has worked on a plethora of projects with the firm, for this particular project, CEI fabricated the metal composite material showcased on the building’s stunning exterior façade.

The MCM was fabricated utilizing the team’s W5000 Route & Return Silicone Joint Panel Systems. This system offers a weather tight economical assembly utilizing a closed cell backer rod, structural silicone joint and hidden fasteners. The non-progressive design offers installation versatility.
