Revolutionary Single Skin Modular Panel System Fills Critical Gap in AEC Market

In the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, being first to market doesn’t always equate to having the best solution. As product uniqueness tends to be short-lived, constant innovation and refinement are crucial.

Jeff Henry, CEO of CEI Materials, recognized a gap in the market for a superior single skin modular panel system. “We identified a need for an improved product in this space. Drawing on our extensive experience with fabricating and installing other systems, we analyzed the current offerings and saw an opportunity to develop a new and enhanced product at a competitive price: CLADLOK,” Henry explained.

Research indicated that installers were particularly focused on precise shop drawings and solutions that simplified installation. Factors such as reduced lead times, better field application techniques, and optimized packaging for delivery were high priorities. While creating an innovative product is important, careful attention to the entire design and installation process is key.

Carlos Ibira, Director of Operations at Corey Construction, recently completed the first installation of CLADLOK at the Tanglewood Senior Living Facility in Houston, Texas. "The shop drawings from CEI Materials were flawless and highly detailed, which enabled us to complete the installation in just a week and a half—much faster than with other cladding systems,” Ibira shared.

He further emphasized the value of CEI Materials’ flexibility: “In previous projects, we requested manufacturers pre-package panels by elevation to streamline installation, but they couldn’t accommodate. CEI, on the other hand, delivered CLADLOK panels pre-packed for the North, South, and West elevations, making the installation process far more efficient.”

John Creighton, Principal at APS, also had positive feedback: “Field application was smooth, even with detailed trimming around doors and windows. The panels are easy to cut and handle, making installation a simple two-person job.”

Creighton added, “We used four colors in a vertical staggered pattern across three areas, and the shop drawings had to be accurate. CEI Materials ensured the panels were clearly marked, and the installation has been running seamlessly.”

Dean Bourdon, President of Midwest Wall Company, echoed similar sentiments. “Our project involved installing CLADLOK wall and soffit panels in a standard size. The job drawings were excellent, and the installation went off without a hitch.”

Reflecting on the success of the CLADLOK system, Jeff Henry said, “It’s incredibly rewarding to hear such positive feedback from installers. We’ll continue to build on their expectations, evolving CLADLOK into a strong alternative in the market.”
